706 Arrives at Heaton Park ……… and Departs

Open Top Balloon “Princess Alice” 706 has been the only tram for interest in the past few weeks were it visited Heaton Park for the “Blackpool Day” on Sunday 21st of November. After arrival on Friday 20th 706 was quickly unloaded and used for crew familiarization the next day in preparation for its one and only day in passenger service. On the “Blackpool Day” Sunday 706 operated faultlessly alongside Marton 31, Vanguard 619 and Railgrinder 752 – which was decorated in illuminations usually carried by Bolton 66. Following the event, on Monday 22nd November 706 departed back for Blackpool while Marton 31 will spend the entire Winter period at Heaton Park.

Unimog on the Promenade

To help with track renewal jobs such as aligning overhead wires Engineering Car 754 is often out and about on the Promenade but for this week was joined by Unimog 939 which has been working around Starr Gate depot. Around this area track renewal is almost complete and externally the depot is also complete.
